How did you run your HEI plug wires?
I am going to install my HEI distributor tomorrow and I can see some issues with running the plug wires. If you have #1 on the front right corner terminal it looks like you will have a issue running #2s plug wire. Is it better to have #1 on the front left instead? Any suggestions?
Thanks

Re: How did you run your HEI plug wires?
i'd have to go double check, but i'm pretty sure i ran my with 1 in the front driver side. I used a set of NAPA brand wires, and it is a 283 if that helps.

Re: How did you run your HEI plug wires?
So facing the dizzy that the right front. HMM if I go that route then #2 is going to have to be wrapped around the back of the dizzy then go down to the wire loom. Forgot to mention I am running ram horns on the 350 so I am going down and around with the wires.

Wires for a 75-80 vette work very well, they were routed just like the trucks and are HEI.

Re: How did you run your HEI plug wires?
Yep I got the wires for a 78. But how do you route that #2 wire? All the others are pretty simple just having problems with #2
Thanks

Re: How did you run your HEI plug wires?
On my 400 I used un-cut wires on my HEI and routed them using moroso wire clips on edge of valve covers with a heat proof zip tie at the point where they split to the cylinders between the header pipes I'm running straight plug 2.02 heads. wires are accell race 8mm

Re: How did you run your HEI plug wires?
One thing to remember is you don't have to start #1 where the book shows, you can move the order one direction or the other to make the wires work just remember to set the dizzy to line up with where you put #1.

Re: How did you run your HEI plug wires?
Ok its all done. Hei is installed and wires are run. I barely touched that key and it fired right up. I was at 5-6 degrees and I adjusted it to 8 degrees then let it warm up. After that I turned it to 10 degrees and its purring. My wires are not as neat as the pic above but its working. What kind of wire looms are those? Kinda hard to see in the pic.
