Shift Improver? TransPak? What's the dif?
B&M makes both but it is hard to tell excactly what the difference is from the summit catalog and the b&m website isn't much better. TransPak appears to give the ability to hold gears longer. and it looks like it comes with the filter. Is the shift firmness otherwise the same? What is everyone out there running? How hard is the street/strip setting? I want a good hard shift at 1/2 to full throttle but when i'm just cruising around I don't want it to rattle my teeth for a 1/4 throttle shift.
Thanks guys

Re: Shift Improver? TransPak? What's the dif?
the transpac is a little "brutal" on the low rpm shifts, for a street driven truck I would go with the improver......or better yet look at the Tran-Go kits. I have run both B+M, & the Trans-Go, but prefer thr Trans-Go. The give the shift you want in traffic.....but hit hard when cranked up L

Re: Shift Improver? TransPak? What's the dif?
The transgo is $80 and the b&m shift improver is $30. Is the transgo that much better? You can set the b&m shift improver to "rv/towing" or "street/strip"....how bad is "street/strip"?
Thanks guys

Re: Shift Improver? TransPak? What's the dif?
I had the B&M in my 70 wasn't to bad nail it to the floor and it would bark the tires when it shifted. It was not bad at all when you were cruising,I would build another one the same way if I were to do it again.Allso had no problems with it for 15 k miles then I sold the truck.
