Bump Stops
After lowering my truck, I am now almost hitting the bumstops on the front. Is there any other smaller stops that I can get?

Re: Bump Stops
You could take a knife and cut them in half.

Re: Bump Stops
It does not sound like you lowered it quite enough yet...if you are not riding on them...LOL!

Re: Bump Stops
Yes you can buy shorter stops, or you can cut your down. Use a hack saw or cut off wheel and slice away...

Re: Bump Stops
Yeppers, my 70 stepper had Yota 1" poly bump stops, but they were only
visible during dukes of hazard type driving since I was riding on them

Re: Bump Stops
If I cut them, would it make for a harder hit? I cut the rears on my Trans Am once and it felt like I was hitting metal on metal. I think they are made in a pointed shape for a reason.

Re: Bump Stops
When I installed my drop spindles and bags, the instructions said to cut them out all together. One of the reasons I went with the Slam Specialties bags because they are built in.
I haven't gotten my truck back on the roaad yet, but I hope the ride isn't that bad. |

Re: Bump Stops
I cut the whole bumpstop assembly off, the bracket and all. If you hit your control arm then something is severely wrong. My opinion, you don't need the bumpstops.

Re: Bump Stops
Prin if your hitting that much then you need to change something in your drop.
