cluster redo

I am going to start buying my guages for my dash redo. I am going with autometer phantom guages mainly because I like white and they still have 3 3/8 availible. A few questions The gas guage is 0-90 ohms correct? And the speedo I would like to go mech for cost reasons how do I know if they will fit with our speedo calbe or will I need to purchase a new cable or adapter? Is there anything else about the speedo or any other guage I need to know? I am going with speedo and tach, water temp, oil pressure, volt, fuel level and vac.

The gas gauge is 0-90ohmsThe mechanical speedo will work with your cable. The other thing you need to decide is if the other gauges will be electric or mechanical.

I am leaning toward mech I have always thought them to be more accurate. I have a small cheap three guage deal under the dash now with mech oil and temp and they seem to work fine.

The above info is correct. Here is a pic of the Phantom gauges that I am using



I did swap the tach and speedo position as the speedo is supposed to be on the left side. Forget that when I initially installed the gauges.

You will definitely like them.

Another question? The brake warning light did most you hook it up or no? Do I just need another led for it then wire it to the signal wire?

You can wire whatever lights etc up by just finding the the right wire in the old harness that you will be diconnecting. There is a diagram that shows the wires and the colors. It may vary a little in the colors but works real well for finding the turn signals and high beam etc.

If you hook up an LED where a lightbulb once was you may need a resistor in line with it. When I did mine I had a slight draw when the light was off and it was just enough to light the LED. I put a resistor in line and it fixed the problem.

Not to take this off on another direction I tryed to make my brake light go on. With e-brake on nothing pulled sending wire off prop valve nothing what makes these things come on? It comes on when I start her momentarly like it should?

Brake light normally came on with mine if I was starting OR if the brake fluid was low.
