Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

Had my truck for about year and a half. Me, wife and brother have driven it so far. Even loan to my brother for days so he can haul stuff. No biggie. Wife loves to drive it, but complains because I've bolted the seat down to keep from rattling. It's a little far for her to get clutch all the way down.

I'd guess my Dad will drive sometime soon also.

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

Me, my wife, my Dad. Most others think it's hard to drive because it's old... I guess that's ok with me.

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

4 guys other than me, Dad, and Grandpaw have driven it that I know of. That was only for the inspection, alignment, tires, and exhaust. Back when it was used every day on the farm probably a lot of guys drove it. Oh yeah Mom drove it ONE time, around the block to a neighbor's house. You bet I was riding shotgun, and I HATED it.(didn't have my license yet) She drove it at 10mph because she said it was way too loud.(short glasspacks :metal) I won't loan the truck to anyone except Dad or Grandpaw. Heck when my Grandpaw still drove it Dad was always borrowing it from him 'cause he didn't have a pickup.

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

Keep in mind I've had Old Yeller for 16 years. During that time I can recall 8 drivers besides me.
1. My father drove it once when I bought it.
2. My mom drove it once.
3. My brother drove it a few times when we were both in college.
4. College roomate once
5. Another college roomate once
6. Another college roomate drove it for about two weeks to class when his car was down.
7. My wife exactly once and after that refused to ever drive it again.
8. My pastor twice
Since the rebuild, absolutley, positively no one has driven it. Old Yeller has way to much engine to be loaning him out now. I didn't much like loaning him out before. Now it's me only.

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

This is an old post but I haven't been here in a while so I am trying to catch up. LOL I drove that awesome beast of a truck that belongs to Mudder. That got me wanting a lifted 4x4. So I built me one. LOL Now my truck Since the rebuild I have driven it of course my dad won't even think about it cause he knows I could take him now. My wife drove it into the garage and to town once and that was the longest 30 minutes of my life. One of my students backed it off the alignment machine a few weeks ago, but he knew I control the grade he gets in class too. Man he was grinnin ear to ear. Otherwise I have been the only one since my brothers tore the clutch out in 1978. They can't believe its the same truck. It was my oldest brothers first truck when he was in high school and after the clutch incident it was junk to them so dad packed it away on the farm and gave it to me some years later.

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

This may sound bad, but some of the huge selling points for my truck was the 4 speed and lack of power options because I knew my wife wouldn't ever ask to drive it. I've offered it to her (knowing she won't take it) to seem nice, but I don't like the idea of someone driving my rig other than me.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: How many ppl have driven your truck?

I haven't had mine for that long, only about 4 months now but I am the only one that will be driving it. The only ones I would ever consider letting drive it are family but I've been in cars with my brothers driving and I'm thankfull to be alive today so the chances of them driving my baby are slim to none.
