Tail lights

I have LED bulbs from Advance Auto, plastic blue dot tail lights and when on, they run very dim. Brake lights are fine, turn signals are normal but the tail lights are dim. Are there better LED's out there or do they need cleaning or dilectic grease or what? The cops dont seem to mind my blue dots but the dimness may get me pulled over.

Re: Tail lights

that's how those ones work... they pretty much suck. You can get some 1157 type LSD bulbs on line that have been said on here that are OK, but you need an expensive panel of LEDs in order to have them light up good. Some one on the parts board has a sale for like 80 bucks or something.

Re: Tail lights

WELL....the led's draw more amp's than the regular bulds...if your running the old stock alt a up grade there will help for sure...could be a ground problem.
i have a 94 amp camaro internal regulated alt conversion on my truck..
my lights are brighter, wipers run faster, really step's things up...
MORE POWER SCOTTY...
MORE POWER O,O,O,O,O,O,O

make sure your sockets are clean and not rusty...
yea and they could be crappy bulds

Re: Tail lights

no, sorry mark... LEDs run off of milli-amps... Way LESS power consumption.
