Having header problems? or just want something different? I have heard headers can come loose and leak all the time. Probably the best place to look would be e-bay or post a topic on the parts board Jodie.

Hey Jodie, Mine came from Eckler's Corvette Parts. You can also get the from any GM Performance Parts dealers like Scoggin Dickey or Jim Pace. You want the 63-64-65 manifolds as they are the cheapest. Get ones that have the mounts for the generator on the side and not the ends (easier to cut off... and they have to come off to either not hit the alternator, AC compressor or firewall if you turn it around like I did.) I used two drivers sides as they were cheaper. The middle bolts are longer than later model log manifold middle bolts. Also, if you took your AC rear brace off the compressor it adds $50 to the project (as usual, learned this the hard way...) in addition to the longer bolts required. I LOVE mine and do not miss the headers AT ALL. I also highly recommend the Walker DynoMax Hemi turbo. I upgraded to these with 2 1/2" pipes from 2 1/4" exhaust and Turdo (not a typo but my opinon of them) King mufflers at the same time. Makes equal HP in my opinion, and the low speed torque is significantly higher. Nice sound but quiet as well. Two thumbs up!

I am looking at my GM Performance catalog and the part numbers are:
3797901 - Corvette Exhaust Manifold (Left Hand) Ram Horn 3814970 - Corvette Ehhaust Manifold (Right Hand) Ram Horn Note: Generator mount is on the side of the manifold. Let me know how you like them, because these are what I want to put on my new ZZ4.

Those are the two I ordered and both had generator/compressor mounts. Took them to a local machine shop and had them chopped off. The two I got had 2000 and 2001 casting dates. I ordered them for a 1962 vette w/ 327.

1-PU70, Junkie has first dibs on them as this is her post. If you don't get any takers I would be interested if you think you can hold on to them until around Christmas time. If they have to go sooner I understand.

Jodie, can you e-mail me a pic of your eng compartment as it sits now? I'm wondering how your aftermarket A/C is mounted, and what type of accesorie brackets you have. This could make a huge differance on manifolds.
Have you thought about the ram horns that came on these trucks? They are very simalar, and with a mild motor like yours, the performance increase will be minimal with thew vette ones. Plus they are cheaper. |
