ash tray to drink holder conversion
Has anyone tried the ash tray to drink holder conversion from Classic Parts or Brothers? I am interested in this and looking for advice or instructions. Neither site has much information, but Brothers does say some modification required, no other information. Just wondering what is involved and how well it works.
Question 2 - I know the later trucks have bearings on the ash tray slides, but do the 67s? I think mine looks slightly different than the standard bearing slide pictures. Anybody with the conversion in a 67? Thanks |

It's a catastrophic success.

Re: ash tray to drink holder conversion
Thanks for the links
I have discovered that at 67 ash tray is different. The 67 has a stamped steel rib to slide on, and the later ones have the two piece design with the ball bearings and carrier. I can force the newer one in, but it doesn't slide like my buddies 67 does. Does anyone know where I can get a true 67 ash tray? All of the catalogs seem to show the later version and label them 67-72. Thanks |
