I tried doing a search for this but came up empty. How do you remove the a arms and all that is attached to it and then rebuild it? I know that is pretty vague but then so is my knowledge of suspensions

The uppers should screw in and out and the lowers are pressed. You shoud buy a Chilton's manual for the truck. They are nice to have around.

The lowers are also screw in and out. Just a bit bigger nut!! And Gorrilla torque!!

Save yourself the trouble...if you find that the arms have mucked up threads (they are subtle, but you should be able to tell) find a new set of arms. Also, get yourself new cross shafts and bushings, the Moog ones are supposedly the best quality, and I liked the ones we got. In any case, if the bushing nuts do not thread in easily, you will just have trouble. Get new arms.

Can you remove the entire arm with everything intact or do you have to take some stuff off?

You should probably pop the spindles to relieve the springs (very carefully, and much easier to do if your truck front heavy, i.e., with engine, using a floor jack to slowly lower the lower arm and also compress it when you are ready to put it back together). If that is what you are asking.

I think it is easiest to take the arms off and then pull the shafts, but you may have to do the final tightening of the shaft bushings with the arms installed back on the truck...it provides a better grip and leverage!!

You can remove the upper or lower by themselves. Ifd you take the upper off support the lower. If you take the lower off lower it with the floor jack once it's doisconnected from the spindel and the shock is removed. This way the spring will not shoot out.

Does your truck have disc's? If not now is a prime time for a conversion.

When I looked at how much it was to rebuild my upper arms, I decided I was going to just replace them with tubular upper arms. My lowers are ok now that I replaced the ball joints when I put the drop spindle discs on.
