I agree, a little more expensive but darn better quality, and you can always get them replaced most of them have warranties on them from the store

I used Hella and I'm very happy with them. Check this out. The standard european driving lights is what I got. www.autobahnpower.com

Re: anyone done a h4 headlight conversion

One thing to think about before you do the conversion, when I changed mine over to the H.I.D. system, I had to cut out the center of the bucket that houses the headlight. There was a depth issue on my truck when I used the newer style composite headlights with the H4 inserts. But they do look nice!

Re: anyone done a h4 headlight conversion

Do you think these would work better with an HID system sense the lense is more clear

Re: anyone done a h4 headlight conversion

HID and H4 bulbs are two completely different things. HID requires a special transformer to power the High Intensity Discharge system. You would be lucky to find a decent one for $400-$500.

Re: anyone done a h4 headlight conversion

Those Autopal lights don't fit very well. They will be loose in your headlight buckets. You can add some adhesive foam or something similar to the back of the light to make it fit right (which is what I did).

Would you care to pass on any info about your HID setup? I checked in to them a bit but I dont know if I am any smarter than I was before. The only ones I could find that were DOT legal (not necesarily a must for my needs) were a projector that only used a low beam. I did find what looked like a shield that could be inserted in the headlamp along with your HID bulb to keep from blinding oncoming traffic (similar to how my 350Z creates a cutoff at the top of the beam of light). So, enlighten me! Does your system have a HI and LO? Does it have some kind of shield to keep from blinding oncoming traffic? Are you happy enough with your system to recommend it? If so what are you using? Thanks

Re: anyone done a h4 headlight conversion

I know what HID is, its just all the conversion headlights them selves are H4 design... I would go with something like this
