long to short
Im cutting down my box so i need some dimentions from you lucky guys with real shortboxes. how much in frount and behind the wheel wells. thanks im going to cut 12" out of the frame and another 8" on the back.

If I understand correctly, Ii think it's the same out of the bed sides as well. 12" in front of the wheel, then 6 or 8 out of the back.

i think you take the same out of the box as you would out of the frame.

I would advise you to cut 6" out of the back. Mine was cut 8" and I think it's too short. You can always cut another inch out if needed VERY easily, but it's MUCH harder to put it back.

Ok,I took these measurments along the body line on the lower half of the bed.Not exact but gives you an idea of what you need.
27 and 3/4 " from front of bed to wheel opening along bottom body line About 24 and 3/4" from wheel opening to back of bed About 3 and 3/4 " from back of sidemarker to back of bed Last edited by 1969k10stepside; 12-22-2006 at 12:29 PM. |

hmmm 2 short beds two different sizes.
i'd measure from the bottom of the wheelwell that's prolly gonna be the best. i'm glad someone asked this cause i'm about to do it to a lb i've got too.

mine is the exact same.. I was stumped for a second, but I measured at the body line and its the same as Dustin
