My wife kicks ass!
She hates my truck because she is a lifted truck kind of girl (all my trucks before this one have been monsters). But today she showed me this. It should be here in a few weeks. It was $65, now I just have to register it at the DMV. She kicks ass.
<edit> Because it's considered a "classic plate", it should be available. It's the original era style. Last edited by jimmydean; 01-01-2007 at 11:49 PM. |

Re: My wife kicks ass!
my girlfriend bought me a big block. <smiley thumbin nose>
that's actually pretty cool... you can buy a plate from an outside source, and the state will recognise it??? Way cool |

Re: My wife kicks ass!
The state will recognize it if it's not taken. This is the correct plate for pre-75 for Oregon, so it's not like some random plate design. If they won't take it, it will go in the back window, but from the looks of it, they will.
The fact she bought me ANYTHING for this truck is a shock, the fact she has embraced the rat rod direction it has taken is amazing. |

Re: My wife kicks ass!
Good luck with doin that kinda stuff here in CA. If you have orig. plates on a vehicle, and it dropped from the system, you will pay hell to try and keep that plate. Of course for a small fee ($50) CA will issue you a personalized plate, throw it away, and use your orig plate. This is assuming of course they let you get the plate #, I dont know if they will let you get a personalized plate with a normally used numbering sequence.
Where did she pick up that plate anyways? Last edited by masterbeavis; 01-02-2007 at 12:08 AM. |

Very cool. Especially from your wife. I was surprised to get this one from my wife for my birthday.

That's bad ass right there. Today is our anniversary, that was my present. No wonder I've kept her around for 8 years now.

Re: My wife kicks ass!
Mine came from someone who sells them on ebay, but I'm not sure who it was.

Re: My wife kicks ass!
There is a place out here that makes Originals for you to replace the same old worn out plates. I will be taking advantage of that here soon. I will have to relocate them again. I found them at the POMONA car show in LA. I am thinking about staying California on my truck plates. It will all depend on Ohio rules and regs.
Respectfully

Re: My wife kicks ass!
That won't fly in Texas. I wanted to use the BDUB-1968 plate in my signature
but couldn't. I ended up going with some 1968 Texas Hemisfair black and white plates. |

Re: My wife kicks ass!
That is, I went with some used hemisfair plates not ones that I made up off the net.

Brad, I will pull up the link when I get home tonight and post it for you all to enjoy. Not sure if they do more than Oregon, I didn't look.

Re: My wife kicks ass!
am i understanding you correctly? you're saying that if i were to find/make a plate that looked like a 69 Iowa plate, there's a chance i could use it legally if no one else has used it?
if so, i know what i'm asking for for xmas next year :-) |
