Billit Grill Install
all, well i am trying to install the billit grill from stull industries. i purchased it from ricks pickup parts here in mesa & i am having bit of a time trying to understand the directions. it says to install the "tinnerman" clips on the grill & i have no idea what those are??? i am unable to make out the pics in the directions (bad copies) too dark! i was wondering if someone on the board has already done this & would be willing to part with some insight as to how you did it??? i am just not able to really get a handle on the install i know it is easy, but i am just having trouble...
P.S. this is on a '72 chevy pickup with a stock outer grill.. thanks! thanks for any insight you guys may have .. and.............. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!! |

Re: Billit Grill Install
Tinnerman clip. There are a few different types though. Whatever type you have will clip to your grill and the new screws will screw into it.

Re: Billit Grill Install
Did you try calling Rick or Sean to see if they would help? I dealt with them a few years ago and they seemed like stand-up guys.

Re: Billit Grill Install
yea
i talked to rick & he said that the grill needs to go on after i installed the outer grill. he said the instructions are in the box. i have a pretty good idea of what needs to be done i was hoping that someone who has done it might give me a little more insight to any "secrets" that they may had found during their install... i am not sure about the opeing question? i am "assuming" that the hood should still be able to open the same way, though now that you have me thinking about it i am not sure if you could get any fingers in between to push on the latch??? i think that is what you mean, cdowns ????? any more help or suggs???? thanks!!! rodstored-72 |

Re: Billit Grill Install
Rodstored-72 what up.
My 72 has the Trendz billet grill and it came with a rod that attaches to the latch and you reach under the bumper to open the hood, it work good but I will try to make a remote opener later. |

Re: Billit Grill Install
fastfun,
thanks i was looking at it a little more yesterday & i a mstill not sure how to attach the grill there are 6 screws (?) with 6 tinnerman clips 2 straight alum. brackets with holes at each end & 2 "s" shaped brackets. i can't really make out the directions because the copy is really really bad. i might end up fab. my own brackets & just attaching it to the tabs on the grill. i checked it last night to see if i could get my fingers in between the bars to open the hood & i think i will bew able to though when i bolt it in i will check better.. i thought that you had a billet grill i just couldn't remember... rodstored-72 |
