Watt Did U Get Dun This Weekin?
I know it's early since most of us have a three day weekend, but I am so happy about what I accomplished that I couldn't wait until tomorrow or Tuesday.
I installed my Early Classic Hidden Hitch Receiver yesterday afternoon, evening, night, and early this morning (I finished at 4:15AM). The frame on my K5 has probably seen 3 hitches in the past, the frame ends were swiss-cheesed, split, and had stuff welded all over them. I spent quite a bit of time cutting stuff off and cleaning it up, then welded 2" angle gussets to the frame ends to support the hitch receiver. I still have to pull it back off so I can remove the bumper brackets that some PO had WELDED to the frame. Why people do crap like this I won't know. I cannot install the last two bolts closest to the frame ends until I do this. So without any more delay, here are the pics of what I started, worked on, and finished with last night. The hitch receiver has been sitting in the back of the Blazer since Spring 2005... Frame condition (poor): Gusset Plates I added:

Also had to notch the corners of the fuel tank to make sure it cleared the rear of the hitch mounts:

Re: Watt Did U Get Dun This Weekin?
Not as much as you, but I found 2 of my air leaks, removed my front bumper
to get at one of them, still trying to figure out how to tighten up the other.

Re: Watt Did U Get Dun This Weekin?
Lets see, kind of same as you, removed gas tank to find out why sender isn't working, its shot. Reinstalled tank, and installed freshly painted brackets and rock guards and bumper. Installed and cleaned up the grill, fender skirts and tried to get my windshield frame square with the body. Still not having much luck with that. I've got about an inch and a half difference between drivers side and passenger side. Not good. Other than that, not much.

Re: Watt Did U Get Dun This Weekin?
Today I pulled the front crossmember, antisway bar, and leaf spring plates from an '88 Sub 4x4. Okay, maybe "pulled" wasn't the word. I cut off all the rivets, unbolted a ton of crap (thank God the front clip was already removed, as was the engine), then beat the rivets out and wrestled the thing out from under the truck, in the rain.

Re: Watt Did U Get Dun This Weekin?
I installed the remote start I got for Christmas. Now I don't have to go outside to start my truck to warm it up, just hit a button on the remote.

My brother has had those on his last two or three vehicles. Loves them.

Re: Watt Did U Get Dun This Weekin?
I gave my old body mount bolts 3 good soakings with penetrating oil! I hope to take the next step and pick up a wrench sometime this week.

Re: Watt Did U Get Dun This Weekin?
With a little ingenuity I don't see why someone could not do it with a carb too. A relay setup with a small solenoid to kick the throttle open to close the choke when it kicks in should do it on a truck with strong engine and a hot spark.

Re: Watt Did U Get Dun This Weekin?
I have one on the suburban and it works fine. I think it would work just as well for a well adjusted carb too. Automatic is kind of a must though, but I think you could bypass the clutch thing if you dared to leave it in neutral. Jeff.

My girlfriend has one in her Jeep. It's a stick. Just make sure your parking brake works
