Norcal: 70 or 71 Jimmy parts rig

Allow me to begin by saying....

I am not parting this thing out!

Individual parts are NOT for sale unless you buy the whole truck

Sold this to a friend many moons ago, now its been dumped back into my lap. Currently located in Manteca CA.

Here is a link to more pictures
http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...black%20jimmy/

I am not parting this thing out. Maybe if I say it enough I will make myself clear.

Here is what the truck has:
This thing has axles under it, unlike the first pic, this is how I found the truck.
(this hardtop is GONE,and is not included, but I will give you the one that came off of my blazer, (had a hole cut in it for a vent)
Front and rear axles. Front is 3.08, rear is 3.08??
shortblock, trans and transfer case. Engine turns freely, no pitting, could hone and re-ring
Bare heads are
462624 1978-81 350 1.94 / 1.5 Z-28 Camaro
462624 1976-87 305 - 350 1.94 / 1.5 r 2.02 / 1.6
462624 1975-86 350 - 400 76cc chamber

Decent tub, with no rot thru. It has rust, but no holes I can see. Does have issues around the windshield at the middle hardtop bolts.

Good tailgate, has one dent on the side, can be straigtened. The fin is semi straight.

has a rear driveshaft, but no yoke on the t-case
good black visors

Uncut dash, NON AC

Comes with a radiator support for a 71 chevy and a few other parts I cant name at the moment

Here is what the truck doesn't have.
Seats
Front driveshaft
Good wiring under the hood.
Busted fiberglass at the heater box
grille
front bumper (cow pusher included)
seats
Working brakes. When axles were taken, the system drained. Assume the MC is bad, and replace it.
Exhaust system

Unknowns:
Title. I dont have it, but I am in contact with the last registered owner, so getting papers will be easy once there is somebody on the hook.

condition of gas tank. Dunno if its full of bad gas, or empty. I will be the first person to find out after you drop the tank and tell me :P

If trans and transfer work. They spin, thats all I know.

this is the history of the vehicle as I know it. The truck belonged to a machinist. He lost his vision, and could not drive anymore. The truck was parked at a relatives house, and tweakers robbed the grille, aluminum heads, and go fast goodies under the hood. Truck was traded for yada yada yada a couple of times, now I have it. It is not stolen, nor is in the DMV computer, so no back fees. I am asking 600, or best reasonable offer.

Re: Norcal: 70 or 71 Jimmy parts rig

From the first pic, it looks like its got the front seats. I'm in need of a front drivers bucket with tracks. If you decide to part it put me in line first please.

I'm in Fair Oaks, just a stones throw from ya (if you have a good arm).

Man, I need some vent windows w/ good frames. If you part that thing out and the windows will fit my '69 C10, let me know.

Re: Norcal: 70 or 71 Jimmy parts rig

71Jimmy: The bucket seats are trashed. They were not bolted in, and are not the correct color for this rig. I assume they were for this rig, but I would have to try and install them to find out. (could be '73 or newer seats)

Bigfishbobby: I just gave a set of doors away that had good vent parts, but nasty skins. Oh well. I have a couple more sets of doors kicking around, that once I get around to it, I will be dumping/hacking up. I must warn you however, that it wont be anytime soon, and once it does happen, I suck at shipping in a timely manner.

Just my luck. I'm using a seat from a '74 now. Thanks for the reply.

Also do you have these brackets and would you be willing to sell them?

I see Blue-dial locking hubs. What condition are the dials in? And if they are in VG condition would you part them?

Re: Norcal: 70 or 71 Jimmy parts rig

Oh sorry, I didn't think you were selling parts off it just yet. I would be interested in the drivers seat if it is rebuildable and has the tracks. It must be for a '71/'72 and not the utility buckets. The '73 up seats are slightly different and the tracks will not fit the mounting holes. I currently have a '74 seat, so I know, already went down that road.

If you could post or email some pics, so I can get a general idea of what they are like. My email address is rolandkutz@comcast.net. And include your asking price.

Thanks

If the dials are in good shape other than normal oxidation (mine have had Channel Locks on them a time or three) then I am interested if you end up parting them.

Re: Norcal: 70 or 71 Jimmy parts rig

Could you check the gas pedal assmebly on it for me? I need a replacement for my '69 and all 67'-70's are the same and it changed in '71. The version I need will be mounted to the firewall and the brake booster is in the way in your photo so I couldn't tell myself. I've asked a lot of people for this and haven't gotten anywhere yet but not having a gas pedal is driving me nuts.

Re: Norcal: 70 or 71 Jimmy parts rig

one badge is in good shape, the other is missing the "MY" part of the foil.
The hubs don't have any channel lock marks on them.
The gas pedal assembly is the cable style, 71-71 type.

Sorry thought you were parting it since everyone was asking about other parts. Guess I should have read it better. Hope you the best on its sale.

Re: Norcal: 70 or 71 Jimmy parts rig

no worries, three years ago I was entertaining the idea of parting it out if it did not sell as an entire unit. If it continues to sit, I will take motor/trans and linkages out and sell off carcass.
