installed the new grill

after realizing that i was not going to sell the grill for anything near what I paid, i decided to install it! Remember, i got it for the ol yellow truck....but the red one was a bit dented and had some hand painted stuff on it that just did not work for me.

I know this is totally OT, but where did you get your rubber interlock floor, and what did it cost you?

Re: installed the new grill

The one on turbochevy's is the 69 grill. The orange one is a 70. To my knowledge nobody is reproducing the 70 grill, only the 69.

Re: installed the new grill

interesting.....I got the grille from Brothers when they were having their sale. This is a OE GM grille.

I never noticed the difference in the inserts until now. I must say I like the 69 grill better.

in my younger days i used to have a business "pimping" garages. This was just the left overs from a few jobs I had done.

www.motormat.com is where I got the product from.

**edit** looks like motor mat is out of business.

Re: installed the new grill

GM stopped making the 70 grill a long time ago, and it was never repro'd. So your 69 grill is as correct as can be, and generally accepted.

Re: installed the new grill

Great looking grill turbochevy. I was going to rehab my old grill when I got my 69 done - finally gave up and got a new one from GM - big improvement especially since the grill is such an attention grabber.

Re: installed the new grill

So we are down to 2 unavaliable grills. 67-68 grill shell and 70 inner grill. Hopefully the aftermarket will eventually fill those needs.

I have owned a 68 and a couple different 72s but I never dove into the 69-70s, so let me get this straight. Turbochevy has a 1970 (from reading his avatar). It looks like he removed a 70 inner grill and installed a 69 inner grill. So in other words, Turbochevy needs to hold on to his original 70grill becasue they aren't produced anymore.
