decoding help needed
I just found a VO7I8WE stamped in the front of my engine (I believe its a 283) the stamp is located on the top of the block near the water pump..... can anyone decode thanks

1967 283 according to my Hollander... It was interesting to note that nastyz28.com did not recognize that one.

Yup, '65 - '67 283, 2 bbl carb, factory rated 175 gross hp. Hooked to a manual tranny in a C-10 to C-25 pickup (your original engine?). Code was also used for a '68 307/powerglide.
