Need help fast......please
I bought the in cab tank carpet kit for my 72 Chevy C20. Has anyone installed this before? The hanger clips don't line up at all and there is what seems to be too much carpet on the passenger side for that hole to be filled. What do I need to do. I need to finish installing before Monday. I have the ground carpet to install also. Hope it isn't as difficult from the begining. The carpet is from GMCPauls or ACC.
Please help ![]() Thanks, Chad Last edited by chadvicki; 01-12-2007 at 08:43 PM. Reason: Adding to description |

Re: Need help fast......please
the carpet should be long enough to go from door pillar to door pillar // measure and get the center of the carpet and measure the center of the cab line those 2marks and work from the center out

What about the extra space on the passenger side? The clips go on the tank correct? It seems that the clips sometimes line up where the tank meets the body and theres no space for the clip.
Do you have to glue it to the tank at the end? Thanks, Chad |

Re: Need help fast......please
Not really able to. There are 3 places that the tank bolts to the cab and there are I believe 3 places that the cab touches the tank. The carpet has clips that appear to hook on to the spots of the tank that doesn't have the bolt in the way or the cab.
The problem is that no matter what I try I cant get the clips and the carpet to go on equal distant from pillar to pillar. Also I cant get a socket in to get the drivers side seat belt out. The door strikes are in the way of the carpet also. Are you supposed to take them out then drill holes in the carpet? It's fine to not include instructions on something that is well engineered and thought out but obviously this is not well thought out design. Chad |
