Powder coat power steering pump?

Can you powder coat a power steering pump? Do you have to take anything apart other than drain and clean.

Thanks

Re: Powder coat power steering pump?

You have to remove all moving parts, seals, bearings and fittings down to the bare body. Anything that will be damaged by 400 degree heat for 15 minutes, or any part that moves, will be fused solid.

Strip it, blast it to bare metal, degrease it, phosphate wash it, then plug/mask all threads. Then shoot it, bake it, and let it air cool.
