Body Swap

Hi there fellas, I'm new to this computer stuff so bear with me, I took me awhile to figure out that I was on the wrong forum. The question that I have is, I've got a 67 2wd 3/4 ton that the body is in fair condition, and I plan on putting it on a 71 4wd 1/2 ton frame, I know the doghouse's are different the 4wd being higher than the 2wd, will the cab fit on the 4wd without a body lift? Thanks in advance for any info.

Everything should bolt right up. You will need to use the rubber body mounts from the 4x4 ( or get new ones ) and you'll have to cut out the floor area for the trany & tranfer case, and use a high bolt in type. You may also have to get bumper brackets for a 67 4x4 if your going to using original 67 style bumpers. I'm sure there are other things you'll run into but for the most part it's a bolt on deal.

3/4 ton body mounts are the same as 4x4 ones.It should be a swap with no mods required unless its a low hump floor in which case a high hump will need to be put in after you cut a hole in the floor...

i think if the '67 is originally a TH400 or 4-speed truck it will already have the removeable high hump, so just cut the hole then.

if the 4x4 has the bolt in hump with a hole couldnt you just bolt that hump into the 67 (assuming the 67 has a boltin as well) then you wouldnt have to cut up a hump for no reason. JMHO...
