Anybody have a horseshoe floor shifter?

I am very interested in doing a horseshoe floor shifter out of an old monte or camaro and graft it into my highhump when I do my th400 swap. Anybody done this or know why it wouldnt work? thoughts, pics-- all that would be sweet. I was watching a cherry one on eb%y that went for like 125.00 Thats cheaper than most aftermarket ones, and thought it would have a more classic look.

Re: Anybody have a horseshoe floor shifter?

It works by a cable so there is no reason it would not work. I would definately be differant.

Re: Anybody have a horseshoe floor shifter?

Smile Re: Anybody have a horseshoe floor shifter?

You'll definitely have to build a console for it to get it up high enough to shift. I really like the idea though. Make it work.

Later,
Buddy

Re: Anybody have a horseshoe floor shifter?

my dad and grandpa put one in the '59 fleet back in the day... but that doesn't help you much. I think it would look very cool, and if done tastefully, would actually look like it came that way from the factory. Good luck and keep us posted!!
