i just bought a 72 swb i am thinking anout using as a daily driver. which do you think would be more drivable and get better mileage

I'd pull the 4.11's in favor of 3.50's and then run the sbc. I know it's not an option but that's what i'd do, even if you keep the 4.11's I still think the sbc would be better.

I would think that a 4.11 and the overdrive would work quite well with either motor but I have no first hand experience. I'm a V8 man so I have to say small block!

i ran a sbc with 200r4 and 411gears for 5years was very happy with them both local and long distance highway(many trips over 2500miles roundtrip) with heavy loads

from my experience with sbc and 6 cyl., they will get about the same milage.
give or take a mile or two.

i wast thinking sbc as well. i have never had an 6cyl before and just figured it would get great mileage.
