Need Directional Switch Removal Help
Working on my '72 C-10, 3-Speed Manual, Column Shift Truck. Trying to take out the directional switch.
I have off: The steering wheel and parts, 3 switch screws, and the directional lever. Trying to find out what's next. The 4-Way Flasher knob seems like it is in the way and I don't believe it screws off like some other vehicles will do. I see 2 prongs holding down what seems to be a part of 2 parts. I tried separating them, but I don't want to force anything too much. Of the many I've taken apart before, mostly on cars and older trucks, I've never seen one of this design. Any info would be appreciated. |

Re: Need Directional Switch Removal Help
I just took mine apart last week had to take the top bearing out so the shaft would move more and then I manuevered it over to the left and out. Can't offer much more than that but hope it helps. It was kinda tricky.

Re: Need Directional Switch Removal Help
I got it out.
Appreciate the reply. Once I took out the wiring harness cover to give it more slack, I carefully lifted it out to the left. It's a pretty tight squeeze and pushing in the 4-Way button makes a difference. If anyone out there decides to work on their coloumn, make sure you dis-connect the battery first. |
