Stock throttle cable end?
Folks, can someone tell me if they have a square snap mount on the end of their stock throttle cable? I'm switching carbs and linkages, and my throttle cable has just a round plastic end that needs to be clamped...like my old bracket
THANKS! |

Re: Stock throttle cable end?
I assume you mean the carb end of the cable. On the firewall end, there is a square plastic clip that clips into the square hole on the firewall.
All of our 71-72 trucks with v-8's have a metal end with a 1/4" round socket in them. There is a spring steel sheet metal spring on it that snaps over the 1/4" ball fitting on the carbs to secure it in place. Jim |

Bill,
The factory 71/72 truck cables have a round rubber ferrule that just pushes into the throttle bracket on the back of the carb. |

Re: Stock throttle cable end?
4wd V8 would be shorter that a 2wd V8 since the engine is mounted in the back position. I would imagine the 6 cylinder would be a different length also.
