350 pulleys question (was mis-posted in general section)

Finally started my A.C. resto prjct, bought new hoses, clamps, figured out how the brackets go on this after-market set up.But with this "rebuilt" motor the AC belt hits the fan center portion.
>> If I get a smaller front pulley I think it will clear, like it did on the orig. eng.
>> The current pulley is about 6 1/2 inches. Were there other sizes available? Or is one available after-market like the one shown here only 5 inches or so?

It’s supposed to go over the center water pump pulley.

On this particular after-market set-up,the compressor is on the passenger side and uses the most forward (unused in photo) pully groove.
This picture is after removing the compressor to see if there was an adjustment.Of course there wasn't.- thx. Brian

The passenger side is the stock location, normally would use the middle pulley on the crank and the outer pulley on the WP as well. You are saying it need to miss the WP pulley? LMK,

Re: 350 pulleys question (was mis-posted in general section)

I just now got the picture?? Not sure what the deal was, but anyway….that pulley looks different from what I’ve seen. If the pulleys are all next to each other would this fix your problem?
I’m going to suggest that you list your year model, engine size and trany info in a sig line, this can speed things up.

Re: 350 pulleys question (was mis-posted in general section)

Thanks. Here's the situation: In the picture above, the 1st (left) belt goes to the alternator via the water pump/fan.The second belt is dedicated to the ps pump.Looking at the outer pulley groove,if you imagined a belt coming out of that groove you can see that it would JUST hit the fan hub, actually it hits a little further out on the bottom of the hub. All I need is about 1/2 inch.It used to clear on the orig. motor and I can't figure out why it doesn't now.I either need to find a smaller pulley or figure out a way to reposition the compressor an inch or so outboard.Thanks-Brian
