Re: Brookings SD new guy
Also, to the SD crowd. I've heard that the 1/4 mile in Marion was closing due to the one near Pierre being opened?
Any substance here?

Re: Brookings SD new guy
Welcome to the board from West Tennessee. Looks like you folks have to much fun. We have enough drag racers on the boards to have a national event.

I work at a Radiator Sales & Repair business just up the street at the intercetion of Samco Rd. & Deadwood Ave. called Dakota Radiator 605-341-6634. Hopefully next time your out this way, I'll have a '68 Shortbox pieced together. Re: Brookings SD new guy
I have had lots of emails and pms about the wheel and tire size on my truck. Let me start by telling everyone, the size I have <<DO NOT>> just bolt on. The front is a 18x8 with 225/40-18 the rear is 20x10 with 295/45-20. It has 3 1/2 drop spindles with 1 coil cut off new Moog springs and it is TO LOW it only has about 2 1/2 inches of clearance so I drive real careful for now!! The truck started out as a GMC so it has leaf springs, not coils like the Chevys. I flipped a S-10 rearend to the top side of the springs and used a 1" block kit. And yes I had to move the wheelwells. OH Ya.... I almost forgot I lowered the body down on the frame 1 inch. Remember, I started out with a POS truck that I was not afraid to chop up! If your truck is nice I would not recomend this wheel/tire size! If you have any more questions... fire away.

Re: Brookings SD new guy
listed below in signature as *current project*
'68 2wd SWB My cheapo paint guy is suppose to be picking it up this week... I'm just having him paint the interior, firewall & jamming the cab & doors... Then I'll start stripping and painting the frame and also putting the 6 lug disc suspension under it. As well as cleaning, painting and installing the 350/TH350 set up I just brought home from another board member in Minn. Then, when I get the cab back, I'll have a good starting point with late-May as a goal as a drivable date. Probably not in Paint, but...? With New radiator support, New inner fenders, New front fenders, New Cowl hood, perfect grille, Poly-Urethane body mounts, a decent Short-Wide box... It shouldn't take too long to get it together & ready for paint.
