Best Quality Repro Body Parts????

I need some new fenders, tailgate (smooth), rockers, cab corners and new bumpers. I also need hood hinges. Who makes the best quality stuff. I want a product that is gonna fit and be good heavy guage steel, not the cheap china made crap!

Re: Best Quality Repro Body Parts????

Well bubba, its all made over seas so, unless you want to scrounge for good used stuff, then its overseas ya go. Look at any of the board vendors and I personally have had great luck with tri-plus parts (sold under the Goodmark name). Look at the header on this page and you'll see some of the vendors advertising at the top. good luck

Re: Best Quality Repro Body Parts????

Ok so its all foreign made. Well who carries the stuff that seems to fit best? Goodmark, LMC, Yearone (not even sure if they make anything for us), or what, I just dont want to end up purchasing some cheap poor fitting parts that are going to take me forever to get to work.

Re: Best Quality Repro Body Parts????

The best is Anything by Tri-Plus. There are SEVERAL vendors on this board that sell parts here (myself included) that would probably give you better personal attention than the places you listed above, plus they support this board.

You can find all of them by the red lettering, or you can see all of them on this page under Vendors:

The vendors that support this site are listed at http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...t.php?f=3&a=10 and http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showgroups.php

I didn't get it typed in fast enough, but like captkaos said USE board vendors, cause they care enough to support the site!!

Re: Best Quality Repro Body Parts????

Captkaos helped me save A LOT of money by placing an order for me that was not only cheaper than goodmarks prices, but allowed me to drive to Lawerenceville, GA to the facility to pick the parts up in person. Goodmark even let me open the boxes before I took them away.

Great buncha fellas on the board.

I got the front fenders and doors. I had to tweak them to fit (enlarge holes, adjust the window openings on the doors (I had to bend them out some)), it was a lot of "extra" work but I have 100% rust free doors and fenders. I coated the crap out of the inside of them with rust encapsulator and a bedliner material

Re: Best Quality Repro Body Parts????

I forgot to add that you can also use goodmarks website to find local distributors so you can pick up the parts like I did and save $$$ in shipping.

Re: Best Quality Repro Body Parts????

I'm about ready to order bedsides, fenders, tailgate, inner fenders and a bed end. Probably end up being drop shipped no matter who I order it from. Question is....Are five items, five times more expensive for shipping? Or, is it basically the trip to your destination you are paying for? I've considered ordering it all at once to save money on shipping, even though that's a heck of an expense.

Re: Best Quality Repro Body Parts????

well i found that most all repop stuff actually is comeing from about the same place. every one says tri plus from good mark, but now good mark offers dynacorn witch is good to. even a cab corner i got from jc whitney one time was tri plus but it was not coted with the black paint. dynacorn are the ones offering the full camero bodys now and others and there steel is zinc impregnated. i got my front clip from ed at mothertruckers.net he is a great help with new and used parts. he also aranged for me to pick them up at a dynacorn warehouse in arlington tx. he will be cheaper than good mark and im willing to bet that if you compared the two products they would be the same meaning from the same repop co. i also got to inspect my hood and fenders etc. before i drove off....

Re: Best Quality Repro Body Parts????

I too say use the board vendors whenever possible. You want to loook around there maybe a goodmark dealer close enough to go and pick the parts up to save on the shipping. I went to a local Chevy dealer who also is a goodmark dealer and got my parts there, and paid no shipping. Now I deal pay retail for most of the parts, but when you figure in the cost of shipping mosat good deals are any god any more and usually you would end up paying for the so called good deal, just my .02

From Goodmark's site:

Quote:
Truck freight shipping is calculated by total weight only (number of boxes or pallets does not matter). Up to 150 lbs. the shipping charge is $95.00 to a commercial address or $125.00 to a non-commercial address or residence anywhere in the continental USA. All hoods shipped also incur a $20.00 pallet charge. Over 150 lbs. will incur charges higher than these amounts and will require special quotes. Shipping to Alaska or Hawaii will incur substantial extra charges, as ocean freight charges will also apply. Most orders are shipped under 150 lbs. Delivery time is usually within 1 week in the continental United States. Goodmark does not ship outside the United States.

All truck freight shipments MUST be inspected before you sign for them. If there is any damage to the shipment, you MUST note the damage on the freight bill or refuse the shipment for being damaged in order to get replacement parts or credit.

Re: Best Quality Repro Body Parts????

Thanks 67. Wow, at $125 bucks and about 5-6 items, that adds up. I once bought a Goodmark Hood for my 95 GMC, decent price until you figure in shipping and then the cost to have a body shop paint it. I actually traded my original hood for the paint job, but the additional cost can more than double the price of the hood. So going with 67's info, I'm probably looking at around $200-$250 if I order it all at once.

Re: Best Quality Repro Body Parts????

Just thought I would butt in. There are body parts for classic cars and trucks still made in usa just to be fair. Its Not all from twn. We sell them also but they are a little more costly than the imported and we find that they are harder to sell.

you can get alot of stuff on a truck ship for $125, so if you are looking for say a fender that required it, you can get a door on there alos.

I have shipped 2 fenders, 2 doors and 2 5 piece repair kits under the $125 shipping. If it was seperated, it would have been $125 twice if in pairs. There is an actual truck delivering it, so if it will fit without damage, you can get it on there.
