Differences beetween I-6 and V8 bellhousings?

Are there differences between the six-cylinder and V8 bellhousings on the 3-speed manual transmissions? I woud definitely like to reuse the transmission on my '62 C10, if possible.

If there are differences, what exactly are they? I always thought anything on GM products interchanged.

Any pics?

Thanks so much

You did not say what six you have. If you have a 194-230-250, it will bolt right up. If you have the 216-235-it will not. You can use the transmission behind the 216-235, but you will need to change the bell-housing, they are cheap and plentiful.

My '63 had a 292 ci I6 and a TH 350 bolted right up. You will need to remove the crossmember that supports the manual bell housing. For the rear mount I used a crossmember out of a Powerglide truck - also bolted right in!
