Re: anybody ever seen a gas tank delete???

Part #3997088 was a cover for fuel tank opening...it use to look like that so I am sure it's factory. Was more common on 40 series trucks with stake bed and "saddle tanks". I would say that was it.

It`s factory alright.Pretty rare on a 1t.That`s a nice set of options. So,what was that trucks original purpose in life?I see it had a special paint option. What does it look like, that lime-ish green like some emergency equipment use?Very interesting.

Re: anybody ever seen a gas tank delete???

My '68 motorhome has one, since it has the pass through from the cab into the motorhome. Saddle tanks on either side of the frame. It's not listed on the glovebox though and I'm sure it was done by the motorhome company (Open Road) as part of the conversion. They used a chrome "gas cap" that is permanantly installed in the opening.

Re: anybody ever seen a gas tank delete???

Yeah kinda neat medium green metallic. i dont see any holes or crazy wiring.I got it as a cab and chassis and really dont see any kinda of welding on the frame other than the pieces that level the frame behind the cab, iassume those are the (body cross sil mtn) that is on the spid. the truck is available if anyone wants to add it to there collection cause mines getting to big!thanks Mike

Re: anybody ever seen a gas tank delete???

I`m thinking RV.But,why the moved tank since it`s not a pass-thru.Unless it`s for more capacity.
