Question 1" front, 3" rear drop

I am going to ask a question that has, I'm sure, already been asked but here goes.

I have a 1970 3/4 ton LWB GMC and I am interested in lowering it just a little bit to level it out but don't know how to do the leaf springs in the rear with out a cut frame or changing the springs to coils! Can someone help me out ?

Thanks

New drop leaf springs.
I just received mine from Classic Performance Products. They sell them in 2", 3", 4", or 5" drops.

I'm sure other places sell them too (Early Classic Enterprises was already mentioned). I went with CPP because I ordered their front disc brake kit with drop spindles at the same time, through a local business.

1" front isn't much drop. There are quite a few threads showing lowered trucks. Most go with at least a 2 1/2..4.Just would hate to see you drop it then have to do it over because you wanted it a bit lower.
BTW you may not see any difference with a 1" since your originals may have that much sag.

Re: 1" front, 3" rear drop

I'm in the same boat with my 70 3/4T,, cheap options are flip kit or drop hangers. Springs run in the $250-350 range. Ill post some links when I get home.
I don't think removing leafs will help and there is some talk of de-arching the leafs, but I'm not sure thats the best way to go.

Re: 1" front, 3" rear drop

I had a 72 3/4 ton that I put 2in lowering springs in the front and lowering shackles in the rear. The shackles really didnt lower it much at all so i took it to a shop that rebuilt leaf springs and they pulled out a leaf for me and re-arched them for about $200.

Re: 1" front, 3" rear drop

What about DJM lowering shackles? That might help. I think they drop 2 inches. http://www.djmsuspension.com/Product...63C10Parts.htm
