Started disc brake conversion

Today I stripped my 1984 'burby' of the entire front suspension. I noticed that it is going to need rotors. So instead of going 5 lug on my 69 C10,I called BROTHERS and ordered their 6 lug rotors for MY spindles. While I was at it,I also ordered the front/rear drop coils(only going 2"-cuz I will be towing a BBQ trailer) and the adjuster sleeves fro the tie rods. All that came to 398 bones out the door. Now I can leave my 3.73 rear end alone! I will post pics when I get everything cleaned,powdercoated/painted and ready for install.

Re: Started disc brake conversion

Manimal, When you receive these rotors, will you look to see if there are any part numbers stamped into the rotor. Usually the numbers are at the very outside of the rotor, by the fins. I am curious if these a cast special for brother's or if they are off the shelf parts that interchange with our 5 lug stuff

Thanks
Jason

NO they are Blanks here in Riverside Calif i go to L&M frichen they been in business for over 50 years and they tell me there blanks and you have have them drilled any way you want 5 on 5 ford 5 on 4 1/2 chevy hay one other thing Redo the Ball joints and the bushings trust me if the front end is off this truck it makes it all that more simple to have that done and plus if you never had a boall joint let go trust me lets just say your better off junking the truck if your at any speeds over 40 mph and on the freeway and you will have one hell of a ride

When you ordered those 6 lug rotors, did you tell Brothers that they were for the 1984 suspension? Did they tell you that they would work on the stock spindle? I plan on doing the same thing to mine and want the 6 lug setup.

Re: Started disc brake conversion

Yes they did.I asked if they were for the 1.25" rotor/spindle,and they are. You will need the spindle from a truck with an 1.25" rotor-or 'Heavy Half' ton.
