What options to get 5-lug for front of '47 Chevy truck?
I'm looking for options on how to convert to 5-lug front brakes on a '47 Chevy truck. Either drums or discs. What's everyone doing to convert their trucks?

You dont have to ditch the straight (although I would) they sell disc brake kits (6 or 5 lug). The complete kit is around 500 bucks or you can by the brackets kit for around 200 bucks and piece it together. I like a modern ride so I clip everything but I understand some people like the old school look even with the frame. I just saw it at brothers for 444.95.
Detailed Description This is the best way to convert your non-disc brake truck to modern disc brake stopping power. BROTHERS "deluxe" 5 lug kit includes: caliper brackets, remanufactured calipers, caliper bolts, spacers, brake pads, hoses, all attaching hardware, new 5 lug rotors, bearings, seals, and detailed instructions. It uses a Chevy car bolt pattern (5 X 4 3/4), so finding matching wheels or rearend will be easy. Last edited by Kabwe; 03-09-2007 at 06:17 PM. |
