Small Blockers and Big Blockers, can you guys do me a favor?
I'm just checking something here. And need one of you with a small block, and one of you with a big block.
I need the measurement between the valve cover bolt holes. For the small blocks I mean the old style valve covers, not the centerbolt. And for the big blocks I just need the outside distance. Cause I know big blocks have a 4 outside pattern, 3 inside. Hope you guys understand what i'm saying, i'm having a hard time myself. Thanks in advance.

I measured 15" center to center for a big block 454 on the outer 4 holes. Hope this helps.

78, I see that you've got a big block somewhere close. What I needed was the distance between 2 of the holes. Sorry, I didn't put that in my post. Thanks guys.

OK Paul, ready?
On a BB there are 4 holes on bottom and 3 on top. The VC flange width/length is 22" and it depth/height is 6 1/2" The distance between holes on the lower edge is 5", there is 3 1/2" between the outside holes and the edge of the head. The distance between holes on the top edge is 7", with 4" between the outside holes and the edge of the head. Hope this is what you are lookin for. -Jeff |

Jeff, I saw some cool chrome plug wire holders in the Pace Parts catalog.
They were chrome and had a red and black bowtie on them. They had applications for SB and BB, and I thought they'd look cool on my 2.8L after I get some chrome valve covers, or paint my stock ones. I guess i'll have to get the color coated ones that are universal. The distance between my valve cover bolts are 4-1/2", thats why I said they were close. Oh well.

Paul look here for more wire looms. http://www.made4uproducts.com/ Dave and myself have the centerbolt covers and found some looms that actually look good when weupgrade to different valve covers.

Thanks for that link Brandon.
I'm gonna have to do some more looking around, but it looks like that place has something that will work.
