How Much To Lower??

I'm getting ready to drop my 68 (coil springs) and I am trying to get a feel for how much to lower it. I already have 1 bagged truck so I don't want to bag this one. Can you guys post some pics of your trucks with the amount you lowered them so I can get a feel I don't know if I want to go full slam or mild, I do know I want the truck to set level.

Re: How Much To Lower??

If you like low,And don't want to break the bank. This is what I would suggest: 2.5" drop spindles, and cut one coil, for the front. For the rear Either get some 6" drop springs or RE7 slam specialties bags and a schrader valve to set ride hieght. I know you said no bags but if you have the coils in the rear, its so damn easy on our trucks. The bags in the rear are a bolt in and give you adjustability for stance.

Re: How Much To Lower??

Here's mine. 1 1/2 coils cut in front and 5" ECE drop springs out back. If I could do it over I wouldn't have cut that much out of the front. I think it's about a 3.5/5 drop.

Re: How Much To Lower??

Thanks! I though about putting a 1" block in the rear to level it out, but I never did get around to it.

Notice he has it parked in front of the Georgia Govenor's Mansion too.

Just kidding, not trying to start a war with the Georgia people...

Re: How Much To Lower??

I wanted it as close to level as I could get it. It still has a very slight rake but not near as much as a lot of guys are running. I went with the 3.5/6 because the 4/6 just looked like way to much rake for my taste. Of course my tires aren't the same size front and rear so that is probably affecting the stance as well.

Re: How Much To Lower??

I'm about to drop mine too in the next few weeks and I was wondering if I drop 3.5/5 on my LWB do you all think I'm gonna run into problems with my 15" wheels rubbing?

Re: How Much To Lower??

Any time you combine a drop spindle with a 15" wheel there is a possibility for interference. If you have a skinny wheel or one that most of the offset goes to the outside your chances of no interference are better.

Re: How Much To Lower??

Thanks See Ten. If I do the drop then that adds to the arguement of going 5 lug instead of 6 since I might have to get bigger wheels anyways.
