The reason they had moved the temp sender is that the later heads had a smaller threaded hole that the early model sender won't screw into.

My problem is I can't get the "plug" (or whatever the name of it is) out of the driver's side head. I can get the sending unit out of the passenger side, just no where to put it. So, I'm stuck with the fugly line running behind the engine.

My 402 head had the plug crack in half in the head it took some work but it did come out. When they finished your heads maybe they thread locked it in(like JB weld or something).

You can solder it to but itīs easier to take a connector off when you want to fix something. I think a connector looks better too.
