Which year s10 weatherstripping?

What year s10 weatherstripping do we need for our doors? Can we get it at the junkyard (will it be long enough) or do we have to order new and cut to fit? Thanks for the help all! My truck currently has none and it is super loud!!!

Re: Which year s10 weatherstripping?

Thanks for the links fleet72, but I'm trying to avoid using stock weatherstripping that has to be glued in. A long time ago (years) someone discovered that door weatherstripping from an S10 would fit our doors. It has metal in it so that it clips to the lip around the door frame. I remember the orner mitre isn't perfect, but other than that it works well! THanks for the links though!

Could you share that link or info? I'll need some for the 68 real soon & would like to get something that works well.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I'd like to know which press on weather stripping works as well... what model/years of trucks that work.

Re: Which year s10 weatherstripping?

Okay... Here is what I did:
I went to the jyard , but couldn't find any off a dodge that were in decent shape. So I looked at a after 2000 chevy. It is the extended cab with 4 doors that open, not three. I pulled those, then compared them to the the dodge they had, they are nearly identical! The width, etc. I really want to say identical, but I'm sure there is some minute difference. I got them both for 20.00. They installed pretty easy, but I had to remove a piece of foam that is inside the middle (where the extended doors are). I merely cut a small slit on the inside lip and pulled it out. easy. Cut to fit and install. The passenger door is nice and firm with a close. The driverside door is a little harder, but I'm sure that will change over time. Best of all I had about 5 foot left over on each peice, so I know they are plenty long. Hope this helps some!

Yeah, I read your reply this morning at work but couldn't reply. I found the other thread regarding the use of s-10 weatherstripping. I have an 89 sitting in the driveway so maybe I give it a go! Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
