I need some help, looks like I'm going to be forced to use an auto tranny.

I have been trying to install a NV3500 manual 5 speed from a 99 s-10 4.3 truck and fabricate my clutch linkage along with a 350 vortec engine. The pic attached shows the flex line that goes to the release bearing and it is about 2 inches short!!! Where it needs to be mounted on the fire wall for the linkage (I am following Yukon's Jacks template for a mounting location on the firewall) With the clutch linkage in this location the flex line is too short to attach to the release bearing.

Basically, I am so frustrated with this I could just give up!!!!!
Anyone have a good deal on a turbo 350 automatic, I feel like this is my only alternative.

Hard to tell from the picture, if the line unscrews from the slave cylinder, you could have a custom one made. Might still be able to if it crimps on. Or maybe put a splice in it. Try pm'ing Yukon Jack. Or take it to a hydraulic hose shop.

didn't they use the same tranny in a 4.3 1/2 ton? If so, the hose would surely be longer.

Oreilly's shows a '99 s10 4.3 and C1500 5.0 using the same slave cylinder- I bet the C1500 hose is what you need. Probably a GM part though.

chevybill,

That looks like the M/C in my '86 C10 ( 4.3 with three speed ). Maybe that application line could solve your problem.

Chevybill.

When you buy an assembly from GM, it comes fully assembled and even bled. Everything from master cylinder, line,to the slave cylinder. Try one for a 1/2 ton fullsize.
