Rear end gear oil

How much oil to replace in the rear axle housing. 1 or 2 quarts, or just fill it to the top? What weight oil to use?

about a quart and a half/ just keep filling till it comes out the fill hole on the side// i use synthetic mobil one or royal purple 75-90weight

Yep. I always use synthetic. Manual trannies & diffs are not something that gets its lube changed all that often. Spent the extra loot on the synthetic!

Fill till it runs out the fill plug as stated above...

Just a note, Eaton recommends AGAINST using synthetic on their posi units.
