73-78 headlight bezels...damn!

I can't believe what these things go for NOS!! I have a nice pair of NOS ones, but have been on the lookout for a really nice pair of NOS ones...but there is no way I can afford these prices!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3230&rd=1&rd=1

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2686&rd=1&rd=1

Maybe I am just cheap...but have these things jumped in prices over the past year or so or what?

I guess it just shows the popularity of these trucks is increasing, along with the NOS part prices for them.

Re: 73-78 headlight bezels...damn!

Jeff,

I agree. I was looking at that passenger side bezel and thought it might go for a hundred bucks max, but jeeez!

I bought a NOS driver side a few weeks ago here and am looking for the passenger side (I'd like the paint to match). Guess I'll keep looking. If you want to sell your "nice" set I have a passenger side unit that can help toward a "really nice" set (as least as I evaluate it)

Brian, my set is mismatched too...I figure I'll paint the buckets if I can't find a matching set.

I'll keep you offer in mind...should I get more serious, but for now I am still in sticker shock!

i know,it blew me away.i got a set of oem's.but, even after painting buckets,i couldn't like the way they look.buckets were nice and the rest was just o.k.so,rather than pay 200 bucks.i thought i'd take a 40 $ gamble on plastic ones from chevy duty or whatever it's called.i thought there aint no way i'm gonna like plastic and i'm very satisfied.i took some time to file and shape backsides so they would fit perfect.and you literally have to rub your nose on them to tell there plastic.they turned out nice.

Re: 73-78 headlight bezels...damn!

Actually, I'm glad to hear they looked so good. I may end up with a set before it's all over .

Then I remind myself it's just cosmetic, and almost everything else on newer vehicles is platic, and think of the gas I'll save for the weight reduction. . .

Maybe it's time to up my meds

Sorry Jeff, I know how you feel. I sometimes feel the same way... I am not usually this lucky...BELIEVE ME!! My friends are always grinding it in on me when they score. I guess I am generally too tight with my $$ to be lucky.

On the other hand $$$$$

Maybe we both could get something out of this and get some $dough$ for ourselves. I'll take the first punch in the gut but I gotta tell ya... I ain't no flyweight.... 230/6'2" and that ain't all baby fat brotha Anyone wanna lay down any odds Jeff & I could use the $$$$

J/K of course... If I ever come across any more your the first person I will tell.

-John

I gotta say the thought has crossed my mind..

Since I "am" eventually (Hopefully May) gonna sell the truck it has crossed my mind many times. But- I think the truck deserves them. Ther is not 1 nut, bolt, screw knob, body panel, widget on that truck that has not been replaced or brought back to better than new condition. Still have the brand new plastic repops in their packaging in the loft. Hmm Ideas$$$

Cool John, I appreciate that.

BTW - I am 6'-5, 205...not what I would call "muscular", but I am pretty strong and can run pretty fast with these long logs. LoL
