Back in Black

Finally feel like we are making some progress on this "Bucket of Bolts". Had it since January; here's the what's been done so far: fixed all of the motor oil leaks, new dash pad, Autometer tach/oil/water/volt gauges, re-worked door panels, new seatbelts, replaced stump-jumped gas tank w/alum fuel cell, restored grill, fixed a few rusty spots & sprayed "death cloak" $50 paint job! Now I'm ready to do some gravel roads cruising topless. (Here are a few before & after pics)

Lookin' good.... What made ya decide to do a fuel cell in the back instead of tossin' in a repro tank under the truck? The dash pad and doors look good too...

Plan on doing some offroad stuff with it later & didn't want to spend the $ on a new tank & it end up looking like the one that came out of it. Also didn't want to hassel with all the tank neck issues I've heard about. Had a bunch of cool AN fitting laying around for the plumbing & can't see them if it's all under the truck

Was Rustoleum Professional oil based paint (http://www.rustoleum.com/product.asp...ct_id=48&SBL=1) We did use a spray gun but had to thin it a good bit (I think something like 45 instead of the recommended 15). Used this same paint on a 4-wheeler trailer & it has held up good, so thought why not?

Re: Back in Black

You might check with the local authorities to find out if that fuel cell is legal within the passenger space of a vehicle.

Maybe you already checked and your state allows it.

Sure does look good in black.
