What do you think my project is worth?
Ok,first off,its NOT for sale.I was just wondering what y'all think it is worth.I know how much money I have in it,just wondering if that is equal, less,or more than what someone would pay for it.
Its a 71 K10 short fleet. Was originally a short step.It has a completely rebuilt 350 that was bored .6 over,Edelbrock intake, edelbrock carb, headman headers. The Th350 was professionally rebuilt.Stock in good shape Np205 and in good condition adapter plate. The frame was sandblasted and painted gloss black. It has new lockouts and the axles were both rebuilt. It has 3:73 gears. It has a 4" Rough Country lift.It has 35" Pro Comp Mud Terrains and 16x10 Eagle Alloy rims. The body.......Both front fenders have been blasted and primed. It has a rust free core support.Hood and cowl are in good shape. The original grill is flawless except for one dent.A set of rust free doors were bought and later blasted and primered. The cab is a a/c cab that needs cab corners and rockers installed but I bought some. The bed was just replaced by a 95% rust free short fleet w/ metal floor. Rare parts.....The only rare part it has at the moment is the Np205 skidplate. I'm still searching junkyards for tow hooks, tach, tilt, and buckets So,what would you give for it seeing it for sale? *Note that it isnt done,it needs the cab work, sanded, painted, and re-assembled.It needs some dents filled, but atleast 90% of the metal is original steel and in good shape Last edited by 1969k10stepside; 04-05-2007 at 05:08 PM. |

Re: What do you think my project is worth?
I've found that vehicles that are apart are nearly worthless.I've tried selling a couple that way and no one wanted them because they felt like they were looking at a "Pig in a Poke". Even complete engines are nearly worthless. Most people don't want to take the risk on someone else's work and honesty. The benchmark I have found is that something is usually worth less than half what it would be completed.

Re: What do you think my project is worth?
$3k based on what I have seen for sale around here.
I would love to find one for less, but I would want a LWB.

Re: What do you think my project is worth?
Actually, if you want my honest opinion, I'd say around $2000 with all parts to finish the truck, based on other trucks/stuff I've seen and looked at.

Re: What do you think my project is worth?
Dustin, i kinda will have a biasied opinion as you know I'm interested in a swb 4x4 but, IMO alot of what was said is very true on the part about not being completed. Personally I would rather buy a truck at this stage so I would know whats there and not whats covered up. Just me. Sorry to say that is not the norm. Before I give my "quote" I will say this I don't think you have to much in it for what you have. NOW if I were looking at it to buy I would say no more than $4000 also just if I were looking to buy it. So I think your right in line with what you have spent so far. With quality work when its done you will be happier than if you went and bought a new truck and I also think you would be able to sell it for what you will have in it at that point. I really hope this is not one of those I think I have spent too much syndrome things. I love your truck. Just my .02 RJ22

Re: What do you think my project is worth?
One of the reasons I would buy it if I was in the market for one is because the pain in the butt stuff is mostly done.No worrys about rebuilding motor, ect. And it isnt painted so you can choose a color, sand, and paint.Plus, with no interior then there is room for a personal customization....
Well,Im glad there is some hope that what I have in it now shows. Its a rare truck so it deserves every penny I have in it.Now just to spend 5k in painting and interior and be done Last edited by 1969k10stepside; 04-05-2007 at 10:57 PM. |

Re: What do you think my project is worth?
I agree there about the PITA things but a down point for me would be I love to build my own engines. I guess the price just went way down I guess you should jut let me have the truck and you can keep yor engine for another project.

Re: What do you think my project is worth?
Looks like a swan we sell at the dealership I work at. Alot of the truck drivers like to put really crazy things on the hoods. We have flying pigs, donkeys, swans, bulldogs, and just about anything you can think of.

Re: What do you think my project is worth?
Yep,it was a factory short bed 4x4,just has a different bed.It was a short step, was then a short fleet, and now has a different short fleet bed on it.Its been a long road to get it this far,but I guess I should be lucky,it takes most a few years to get this far,and its only took me about 9 months so far.Hopefully by winter or next spring it will be wearing its color and will be chromed up
Its kinda hard to believe last October it looked like this: Last edited by 1969k10stepside; 04-06-2007 at 01:05 PM. |
