Pics of l6 to v8 swap.
Here's pics of my current project. Swaping a 400 small block and a 700r4 in place of a 250L6 and a 350th. everything is getting detailed and paint. Even replaced heater core. The bus is the doner for the engine and radiator. I'll post more pics in a couple of weeks when I get to work on it again.
I hope it runs good when done.

Looking good so far. I would have loved to have the bus to fix up.

Sold the 350. The 250 L6 is still in my back yard. Come take it. Just watch out for the dog.

Re: Pics of l6 to v8 swap.
That's a nice clean looking truck, and that 'new' motor looks good too.
I'm always a little sad to see the inlines go, but I might be a little biased. |

Re: Pics of l6 to v8 swap.
This truck looks better in the pics than it is. The body is rusted pretty bad. But my goal is to have a truck that looks like it just rolled off the farm before spanking your honda. The engine is pretty mild as far as I know. Loads of torque though. When I bought the bus I drove it to cleveland tn. Real near to the cruise in site mentioned here. Just before parking it we realized that it had a manual valve body in the th400 that was behind it. I had been running around in third gear the whole time. I was amazed that it drove around just like you would expect a big bus would if you were shifting. 700r4 Tranny is a stock rebuild with TCI lock up kit. A manual lockup will be mounted on the dash.3:73's in a 12 bolt posi out back. The engine will be getting Hooker long tubes (ceramic coated), aluminum under drive pulleys, K&N filter in a B&M mega scoop, Edelbrock 750, and an Edelbrock performer intake. 882 heads. I am sure there is more that I'm foregtting. I will also be adding a 1-ton sway bar soon. I also stole the hydra boost off the van. If any one has any input on how I should go about installing the hydraboost I would love to hear. Thanks for the complements that's why I do what I do.

Hopefully a vid at the strip and I have even found a SCCA event that I want to attend with my stock suspension, brakes, thin white walls and hub caps. Sounds crazy but I think it would be a blast. Thanks 71chevy4-speed now I've got a lot to read. Looks helpful. Happy Keaster yall.
