Cut the spring perches off of the rear axle, built half of a rear notch, cooked and ate Easter dinner .

I went on a parts trip- almost 600 miles thru SE Iowa & back Saturday. I scored a Blazer tub & frame (board member), pickup cab (ebay, no pics yet), LH fender (board member), a 88- up bench seat (ebay), and a set of black seat belts (ebay).

Re: What did you get done? 4/08/07

I got the freshly painted hood on my buddy's 66. Then we concentrated on my truck and we got the grill fitted. Then we modded the heck out of the Grill brace to make it fit the repop grill. We then topped it off by slapping the hood on.

We managed a couple custom paint jobs on some hard boiled eggs. Then I ate lots of ham, rolls, jelly beans and chocolate easter eags.

I got the tin in the cluster painted for my faux white overlay look and painted the needles, too. The bezel is getting replaced with one that has the holes for gauges. Not a lot of progress....baby steps.

Re: What did you get done? 4/08/07

I replaced an attic fan,a flapper valve in a toitie,Dissassembled the stove to get a # off a switch, put it back together to use until the switch gets here.Cleared a little spot on my workbench,Took Mrs P to lunch Fri.,bought and set up a DVD TV unit (one of the 8" screen){I have an Ulterior motive for that}.Did a trip to the bookstore (finally found "Truck Builder"(need to send them a resume')Scored a 1/64 Blazer in green,Got new glasses,(I can see clearly now)Trimmed my beard to summer spec(then the temp dropped 30*).
I also scored a cheap Surround system for one of the Tv's and a canvas Gazebo for Mrs.P to sit in during Muskeeter season.I will be out of town for the next four weekends traveling to Charlotte,Tx to see family, and Maggie Valley.Mrs P pointed out that she would like for a few of my "Honey Do's" to be done.

I helped a friend get his boat motor running and then stabbed in the new HEI in my '72. In the process, I've seemed to have lost my + wire....but it'll get back together somehow.

2 new u-joints for the 68, mowed the back yard, also smoked a ham for din-din. And then attempted to un-clog the kitchen sink, 25ft snake is too short...

Re: What did you get done? 4/08/07

Got the rear of my truck up on jack stands and started the tear down. Went and had new U-bolts bent at the local truck shop. Put a coat of rust inhib paint on my freshly blasted trailing arms. got the old trailing arms and coils out of the truck and started workin' on flippin' the carrier bearing mount. I also put my front bag cups in the lathe and cut them down to 1 inch. Made a quick stop by the welder shop/metal supply and picked up a couple 1" chunks of 4" dia tube to use for my x-member mod.

I scribbed the circles on the X-member for the exhaust cut outs, but when i went to use the torch to cut them, i realized i was out of oxygen. :/

Re: What did you get done? 4/08/07

Replaced right ram horn manifold (cracked(, donut gaskets, bolts for the donut gasket holders (not sure of the flange name).

Sounds real nice now.

But now I think I can hear my power steering pump grinding...or something like that.

Got the grill back to the stock white color and some "driver quality" trim around it. Installed the stock front swaybar while I was at it.

Re: What did you get done? 4/08/07

Went to the swap meet. Manageded to not buy a sweet looking 4x4 short bed 60-66 with the front clip in the bed. That was a challenge.

Remodeling the master bath. Got the new tub in, backer board, sheetrock everyhere else, first coat of mud. Also pulled down and put up some ceiling, redid some plumbing, etc.

Didn't touch the truck but that first coat sure make it feel like progress has been made. 5 weeks into it, 2 weeks of that out of town in NE CO. Not too bad for a lazy old dog...
