ignition coil fun.
So My truck had a miss ,or should I say it would "flaten" out at higher rpms It has the pertronix ignition and a blaster coil. I thought maybe it was my coil and swaped in my old one. I took it for a test and it did the same thing. I pulled in to my drive way and when I shut the truck off..... It kept running !!!!
I started to check the coil wires and when I touched the neg (-) wire ... ZAAAPPPP !!! Yup a bad coil . I replaced my coil and the truck would shut off as it should. But still had thad "flat " problem. So what was the problem? My choke. It was not opening all the way when I pushed the choke knob in, and fuel starving at higher RPM's. Easy fix, by addjusting the choke cable I thought my truck was pissed off at me and going "Christine " on me!! I guess I better go buy her something. Re: ignition coil fun.
Glad it was an easy fix for you. I had a new pertronix ignition in my 41' and it went south, took me forever to figure it out. Now I won't run pertronix anymore.
