Hood alignment
I've seen this issue with several trucks that I've seen so I figured it was pretty common. I couldn't find anything the the FAQs so maybe it's not that common so hopefully someone here can help. The hood on my '73 doesn't sit down right up by the windshield. How do you get the hood to sit down inside the fenders? Could the hood be bent and causing this alignment issue?

Re: Hood alignment
Your hinge may be worn out. You can pull them off and slot the holes so the hinge will rotate downward more.

Re: Hood alignment
what i did it pushed down on the hood when it is up. So it will move the hood down in the bracket that hold it in place.

Re: Hood alignment
loosen the bolts on the hinge, to the point that the bolts are jsut loose enough to slide in the brackets a little. Once the hood is down, then open slowly and tighten the bolts and see if it stays where you want it. It is strange to see, the hinge has to go up for thehood to go down.

I did this one side at a time and it worked great for one side, it's all the way down where it should be, but the other side is still raised up a little more than it should be. It's better but it's not right. I guess the next step is slotting the hinge on the high side. |
