Lookin at pickin this one up...

Hey fellas,

I was just lookin around on eBay and I found this in my town.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-...QQcmdZViewItem

I called the guy and I've seen him drivin it around town a little, he lives close. He said he was lookin to get aorund $4000 out of it. For a short bed with original paint and an LT1 in it I didn't think that was to gaud awful. I'm gonna look at getting the cash together but I was gonna see if ya'll had some bad thouhgts about it or was just gonna put it out there for someone else to pick up. Like Sameyrasmea72, who buys every truck in the area . I'm gonna have to take a look at that collection one day.

Re: Lookin at pickin this one up...

Hmmm.....96 model police car eh?

Thats not an LT1 my friend, its a 9C1. Essentially its the same...'cept its a HIGH revin 265, cast iron headed version. And it only has about 9:1 compression. In my opinion they are better(more reliable)than the vulnerable LT1s. As long as you dont let it get over 200 degrees or so you should be very happy with it.

Also, I just wanted to mention that is one of the cleanest swaps Ive seen. Theres no unsightly harness strung about, its just....clean. I like it.

Good find, good job, good price too.....I really like it man.

Thats a sweet truck and looks really solid. Surface rust is nothing. Hopefully you can get it.

Re: Lookin at pickin this one up...

I'm gonna make a low, last minute bid on eBay because it's no where near his $4k wanting price right now. Then if I win at least no one else gets it right now until I can get the cash. He said he was tired of listing it locally because no one ever had the $$ so I doubt anyone in town that hasn't seen the eBay listing will know about it. I can't believe I let you guys know, now one of ya'll is gonna grab it.
I honestly can not buy it until I sell my '69 and I placed an add for it last night (thrifty). I like mine and haven't had it long but this one is just so much more of what I wanted. It has power steering, power discs and a short, wood bed. I have none of that. If I had been able to buy this back in January I would have EASILY pased on my truck. I hate being poor and in grad school.
Seriously, if anyone that actually has the $$ would want it I would be more than willing to go check it out for you or something. And he told me he keeps it in a shop so he could probably store it if he has to.
I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Yeah, I forgot I was gonna comment on this in my last post. My '69 has the 200 horse Goodwrench 350 with a cam that maxs at about 4000 rpm. And it still has a warranty on it until March of '08.
So, even though it's the iron headed version it would be so much more than what I have now (HP) and is a lot better starting block in my opinion.
Thanks for the heads up though. I had no idea there was any difference between the F body/vette LT1s and the 9C1 version.
