What have you guys used to coat your leafs and rearends? I'm gonna get them blasted, but not necessarily sure if they need to be powdercoated. What are some different things that have been done? I just want it to look good underneath.

Rustoleum Semi-gloss black or Chassis Black from local auto paint shop

i wirewheeled it with my drill, put rust preventative primer and gloss black from rustoleum on. i did my whole frame like that and much of the suspension.

That paint that TSC sells is real good,too.

If your main concern is rust, I would try POR 15, but there are many other products that do the same thing for less money. Here in Texas, a good cleaning and a good coat of paint goes a long way, then again we don't have the salt/snow all winter like some of you guys. I use an industrial rust incapsulator (sp??) from Zep. It comes in gallon jugs and spray, it works great on anything I have that is rusted.

I would apply the por 15 its bad stuff. If you spray it you will get a flat or semi-gloss look depended on how much pressure you use. If you brush it on it will come out glossy and looks very good for brushing it on. You will not even be able to tell it was brushed. Just hit everything with a wire brush and clean all grease of and this stuff will stick like powder coating .Hitting it with a hammer will not chip it. A pint cost about 40 bucks and goes a long way .IMO its very cheap and durable . I have not tried any of the other products though I got hooked on this stuff.

I have heard many good things about the POR 15, My buddy did the hammer test on his mopar and he swears by it. He coated the whole underside of his car, he said you want to clean the piss out of it, let it flash rust then coat it.
