Just saw an NOS single one on e-bay, and i believe it didn't get any bids. It was $75 opening bid.

i know two guys that have one NOS extreme bend towhook each---they know each other too and neither one of them will sell to the other. one of them already has about 20 sets of hooks--remember when i first got here and bought all those hooks, he's the one i bought them for. it's really kind of funny, they'll probably both die owning one NOS hook.

That is funny Jerry.They might go to the grave with them hooks.
I say one 68 tow hook may be worth-$75-100

A pair is worth $200.One is worth nowhere near 1/2.Pretty worthless without the other as a high dollar vintage option.They`re high from rarity.So,finding the opposing hook should be tough.If not,they aren`t rare and not worth the $200.

i just don't get the whole tow hook thing why would somone pay so much for them? most guys wanting them wouldn't even dream of putting their truck in a situation where they would need them or even thinkof wraping a chain around them and jerking on somthing. that being said the only ones i haven't got yet are the 67-68 ones

The reason I like them and want them is because my truck was originally optioned with them and I need an excuse to fill up the holes that are there for them...Not a cheap way of filling up a hole though...Now,the ones that didnt have them I see no reason to buy them and put them on.Would anyone spend $200 + on them and actually use them?A few,but not many.But there is some that want a loaded truck with the front and rear hooks,tilt,tach,buckets,a/c,speedwarning...ect,ect for show purposes.So they can say,it has ever damn option possible back then.I have seen chromed hooks,extensivley sanded ones so they are "perfect"

You know they will never be used...

Why do people pay crazy money for a mono AM/FM or bucket seats that only let two ride,if the truck didn`t originally come that way.Why does anyone pay $800 for a n.o.s. tailgate because they`re stronger when you`d have to be crazy to put an $800 tailgate to the test.I`d imagine any truck that`s worthy of an $800 tailgate won`t exactly be doing alot of heavy hauling.

i'm sure my $10 tow hooks will get a work out but my $40 new take off GMC tail gate will be sitting some place safe till i learn to be more carful
