Disc Brake conversion
Can I put a set of 79 C10 disc brakes on my 69 C10? What is the difference?
Thanx in advance! Mike |

Re: Disc Brake conversion
You will have to change the spindles, ball joints, and tie rods to make it work. But in all reality the ball joints and tierods need to be changed.

Re: Disc Brake conversion
Or you could swap the whole crossmember.

Re: Disc Brake conversion
I have a complete front end from a 79 truck, if I swap the control arms, spindles, and tie-rod ends, will that work OK for me? Or, do I have to stay with a 71 or 72 disk brake set up? Doing a ground up restro but want to add disc brakes for modern braking.
Thanx again Last edited by harlyworkr; 05-07-2007 at 11:05 PM. |

Re: Disc Brake conversion
Well just use the whole front crossmember if you have it.

Re: Disc Brake conversion
Honestly I'd get the m/c and booster and front lines off of it too, if you have the whole thing. Check the FAQ (Index Link in my sig) for info on using the m/c and booster. The advantage to this is the ugly prop. valve is out of sight.
