Front Rotor interchangeability?

Okay, my mind is still turning. I have a 73 + clip on the front of the truck (1" wide rotor) I want to get a 5 x 4 3/4s lug pattern. Does anyone know if there is a car rotor that interchanges with the 73 + rotor and is 5 x 4 3/4? I know, y'all are getting sick of me asking, but I am trying to find a feasable solution. If I change out the front rotors with new ones and get the rear axles redrilled, then i won't have to buy adapters (which I am hearing are bad)
Thanks!!
Shawn

I have some 1 1/4 inch truck rotors that have been redrilled to 5 on 4 3/4. they are practicly new. I bought from board member bigjimzilll I never used them and project went another direction if you are interested.

Re: Front Rotor interchangeability?

maybe a hollander interchangemanual could help you .
you allso can go to the local pick and pull and fisicly see wat will fit by switching parts around on the local wrecks

Re: Front Rotor interchangeability?

Olden Days,
Will the 1 1/4" rotors work with my Calipers? I din't know you could swap rotors between the 1" andthe1 1/4". I may be interested if I can't find an easier local solution.
Faribran,
The rear axles are 6 lug. I figured I would just remove them and have them welded and redrilled for 5 x 4 3/4.
Does this sound like a feasable option?

Re: Front Rotor interchangeability?

I dont know what you might have to change to make them work. I was throwing that option out there for you if you know how to make it work.

OKay, now we are getting somewhere. Did yo get those from the local parts store?? Do you know if the 71 truck rotors are the same as the 73 + ortors that are 1" wide?
Thanks for the info so far!

Re: Front Rotor interchangeability?

I cannot seem to find any '70 impala rotors, only 71 and up and they appear to be 5 x 5. Can you clarify this for me?
Does anyone know the stock diameter of a 1" wide 73-87 rotor? I can't seem to find it on the net. The 71+ impalas use 11" rotors that are 1" wide. I am trying to figure this out!

Re: Front Rotor interchangeability?

Also, Can you measure the center cone part for diameter. I know I'm being a pain, but I have to make sure what I want to do will work, or it's all for not. Thanks!
